National Dressage Pony Cup is held in conjunction with MSEDA Dressage at the Park I & II

Show Requirements

Ponies must have a current USEF Pony Measurement Card.

Ponies without a current USEF Pony Measurement Card will be assigned a time to be measured before their first ride.

If you need a pony measured, WE WILL OFFER TWO (2) TIMES AT THE SHOW FOR PONY MEASUREMENTS and YOU MUST SPECIFY WHEN YOU SEND IN SHOW REGISTRATION which of these two times you prefer:
1. Thursday, September 7, 2014 at 5:00 pm
2. Friday, September 8, 2014 at 3:00 pm

Owners must be current members of USEF in order to receive a USEF Pony Measurement Card.

Measurement rules and requirements are governed by USEF. For information visit the USEF's Pony Measurement FAQ page: https://www.usef.org/_IFrames/Faqs/measurementFAQ.aspx.

Ponies, Riders, and Owners must be current members of USDF (Introductory Test riders and ponies are not required to be USDF members). If you have membership in KDA or another GMO, you are then a "group" member of USDF and this qualifies.
Ponies, Riders, and Owners must be current members of USEF. For Training through 4th Level, USEF non-members have the option of paying a non-member fee. For Introductory Tests, the USEF member requirement does not apply.

Show Rules

Ponies may compete in more than one level.

Ponies may compete with multiple riders.

Each Rider/Pony combination must ride a pre-specified mandatory test each day at the level they are competing to be eligible for prizes:

          Introductory Test B

Training Level Test 2 Test 3
First Level Test 2 Test 3

Third Level Test 2 Test 3
Fourth Level Test 2 Test 3
FEI Pony Test competitors are required to ride specific tests each day to qualify for prizes:
  Saturday Sunday
FEI Pony Test Team Individual
FEI PSG, I1, I2 and GP competitors may ride their test of choice each day to qualify for prizes, yet tests must be consecutive levels.
Musical Freestyle Tests may be ridden on scheduled to be ridden on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Only one (1) Freestyle Test is required to qualify for prizes.
Separate entry forms are required for each Rider/Pony combination.
Dressage whips are allowed.
Tests may be read by a test reader, except for FEI Level Tests.
NEW FOR 2014: Rider/Pony combinations who won Champion or Reserve Champion at NDPC with an averaged score of 68% or higher will not be eligible for NDPC Awards at the level or any lower level in which they received Champion or Reserve Champion. (They may compete, but will not be elibible for awards.)

Awards

For Pony Cup Awards:
Scores from Saturday and Sunday's tests are averaged. (Add test scores together and divide by 2).

For High Point Rider Awards:
The Highest score for a ridden test will be used to determine High Point Rider Awards for Junior/Young Rider, Amateur, and Open.

For Pony Cup Breed Award:
The Pony Cup Breed Award is an overall award that encompasses all registered ponies at every level for breeds represented each year. For recognized traditional "Pony" breeds, there are no height requirements or measurement restrictions for the National Dressage Pony Cup Breed Awards (see list below).

A copy of valid registration papers must accompany the entries.

Scores from dressage tests ridden on September 6 & 7, 2014 at the MSEDA Dressage at the Park or National Dressage Pony Cup that fulfill the requirements (See above for mandatory tests each day) will count towards the Pony Cup Breed Awards.

To balance the degree of difficulty as the levels increase, the below chart of points will be added to the average scores to determine the Pony Cup Breed Award:
